You will notice that all of The Best buildings are labeled either "Standard" or "Deluxe".  Standard models come with BuckeyeStrong™ Doors only, options can be added at your request.  Deluxe models are packaged with the most requested options.  You may remove pre-packaged options or add to them, simply tell your sales representative what you need.  Deluxe models have taller walls (and steeper pitched roofs on gable styles) which allow room for overhead lofts...lofts automatically come in all Deluxe models.  Finally, the tongue and groove flooring on the Deluxe models is pressure treated, the Standard models is untreated, however can be upgraded to pressure treated.  A two inch treated floor is available on Deluxe and Standard models but not recommended for normal use (ask sales representative for additional information). 

The floor system features heavy pressure treated 4"x4" supports (or 4"x6" supports on buildings over 16' long) no more than 24" on center with 1"x6" tongue and groove plank flooring. The only exception is the Kentucky Cabin Standard which features 2"x4" floor joists 24" on center with the 4"x4" or 4"x6" supports with variable spacing underneath. A pressure treated 2"x4" support is installed across both ends for strength and appearance, as well as to keep animals out from underneath. All materials touching the ground are 100% pressure treated to protect against termites and decay, and the "Deluxe" buildings have a pressure treated floor as well. Floor systems may be upgraded to a 2" tongue and groove treated floor, however not recommended for normal use (ask sales representative for additional information). If a concrete floor is desired, the price of wooden floor is deleted, additional pressure treated 2"x4" bottom plates are added to the walls, and Buckeye Barns will use concrete anchors to attach the building to your existing concrete pad.

Framing materials are select structural grades of Western Spruce, Hemlock and Fir. All framing is spaced 24" on center or closer.

Depending on size and style of building, there may be diagonal wall braces for additional strength and stability.

Buckeye Buildings are offered in six distinct sidings:

1. 5/8" T1-11 rough-sawn textured siding
2. 1/2" Factory Primed Duratemp Siding
3. 1"x8" Pine tongue and groove horizontal cove siding
4. 1"x6" Cedar tongue and groove horizontal cove siding
5. Log Siding
6. Vinyl Siding

If you intend to customize your building with vinyl siding or any other material, we also build our buildings using an underlayment of 1/2" CDX plywood.

All roof trusses, spaced 24" on center, are fabricated from selected grades of 2"x4", 2"x6", or 2"x8" material for maximum strength. Every rafter has multi-toothed steel plates embedded into both sides of each joint using 20,000 pounds of pressure. The roof is sheathed with 1"x10" boards extending approximately 12" beyond the building at both ends with 1"x4" or 1"x6" fascia trim. We do not use OSB or plywood.

Our Engineering Department determines the dimensions of materials that will develop the maximum structural integrity of each building based on size and appearance.

Buckeye Barns has several colors available in standard 3-tab shingles including: white, tan, brown, dark grey, and black.  Also available are Shangles (these look dimensional with the added benefit of being flexible enough to go on a gambrel shaped roof) and a variety of dimensional shingles for gable style roofs.  All shingles come with a 30 Year Limited Warranty.  Please contact or visit a sales representative for exact colors.

All buildings have triple constructed, interlocking double framed doors that use over 200 plated screws and heavy weight continuous hinges.

The Standard Door which comes by default on the "Standard" buildings comes with a chromed locking "L" handle with keys, spring latches and hooks. Door openings are 63" x 72" for double doors and 31" x 72" for single doors.

The Deluxe Door which comes by default on the "Deluxe" buildings (the Buckeye Door comes by default on the Buckeye Barn Deluxe only) comes with a chromed locking "L" handle with keys, spring latches and hooks. Door openings are 63" x 72" (63" x 78" on the Buckeye Barn Super; and Buckeye Barn Estate if on an endwall) for double doors and 31" x 72" (31" x 78" on the Buckeye Barn Estate if on endwall) for single doors, ask your sales representative for details.

Any of the above door styles may be substitued for the door style that is included with a particular building. The French, Cottage, and Vinyl Clad doors may be an additional fee. Also, the sizes of the wooden doors can be modified to fit your needs (common single door widths are 31", 36" and 42"). See your sales representative for more details.
